Here is my review of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, as promised.

I liked it. As much as the dialogue sucked beyond the telling, it was still Star Wars. When the opening music started and the crawl went up at the beginning I got all tingly and excited. It was so cool. The chases, battles and stunning visuals made up for the slow pace of the romance and the horrible dialogue. I had a hard time believing any of Padmé and Annikan's mushy speeches. Portman looked absolutely beautiful and Christianson was hot, but I wished for the dialogue of the first movies. Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi did a great job with his lines and performed admirably talking to animations. The best part was the recurring characters: Yoda, R2-D2 and C-3PO. They were funny and Yoda kicked some seriously cool ass. I totally agree with George Lucas' decision to animate Yoda; it made it look as real as a tiny little green dude can. Whehn Padmé and Annikan are in the factory and then the arena, I could only think that they are so their children's parents. Only Luke and Leia could get into more trouble. That scene and the huge Jedi battle was amazing!! Well orchestrated and pulled off. The stunt coordonator (whose name escapes me) did a great job.

I miss the dialogue from the first three movies. I have the screenplays from them and so many lines hilighted. Instead of " 'I'd just as soon kiss a Wookie!' 'That can be arranged!' ", we got "Ever since you came back, I've been dying a little bit every day." Blah.

Overall, Star Wars was worth it. The last 45 mins were great and I say go see it anyway. It's Star Wars for Goddess' sake. You know you're going to see it anyway.
