This weekend was amazing! My dad and I spent all of Saturday and Sunday at Softball City in South Surrey at the Canada Cup. What's the Canada Cup, you ask? Well, it's world class woman's fastpitch softball. Teams from all over the world have been converging on Softball City for nine years now to play against each other. It's absolutely phenomenal ball. Each country that enters sends a team(sometimes more, like 6 in USA's case and two in China's) and they play all week. Not only is it amazing watching, but it's great to walk around and get the Chinese catcher to sign your flag, or the Australian girls to pose for a photo, or chat with the Irish coach. There's a real spirit of comraderie and everyone has a great time, fans and players. Yesterday, two South African girls braided my hair in tiny braids after I complimented Cindy's braids. Kathy said that she had done it and if I could find some elastics, she would do mine. I scrounged up thirty one(to be exact) and the two of them plaited them all in half an hour. It looks so cool and they were sooooo nice. I really hope they do well, 'cause it's their first year here. I want to go back and get their addresses, so I can send them the photo from when they finished. The only problem is, I live in Vancouver, I don't drive and I work all day. Hopefully, Dad and I can go back on the weekend for the finals. That'll be really exciting, especially if Canada does well. With Japan not here this year, they have a better shot, I think.

Fun Sentance of the Whenever goes to my dad this week. It comes straight from the Canada Cup, Canada vs. Iowa.

"Coaching 101, Send her!" Dad, yelling at the Canada's coach after he held up a scoring runner. The whole crowd laughed.

I'm turning into those people I hate. I'm talking on the phone with my new boyfriend, Rob, and I'm being all cutesie. It's funny. I'm not a sappy person. I shun romantic comedies, I smirk and scowl when people are coupley, but I get a guy and whoosh! Out the window it all goes. The good thing is that so far, I have no inclination to have a Meg Ryan vidfest. Thank Goddess for small favors.

For those of you going 'boyfriend?! I thought she hated guys!', you're as surprised as I am. I have no idea where this came from. But one night we went out for drinks and just clicked. He's the sweetest guy and I'm super happy, even though we don't get to see each other alot b/c of our schedules.
