Jaysus. It's been a year almost exactly since I last posted. I've been over at LiveJournal since January and I've transferred all my love to them. Sorry, Blogger. The auto-emailed comments and icons and not to mention the fandom love have won me over. Buuuuut, Ashleigh has started a community for the Savannah Stories and because I love her so, I'm reviving this account. Well, kind of. I'll be keeping the link for my LJ in the sidebar and I'll be updating it most frequently, but I'll really try to keep this current. Plus, my LJ is mostly just me rambling about my tv shows and my lameass fanfic. Anyway, I'll post more later. Love you Ash!

Just got back from the 2004 Annual JCC Sports Dinner, a huge fundraiser for the Jewish Community Center and packed with infulential people, athletes and entertaiment people. My feet are killing me because I just spent six hours standing in stilettos, but I'm over the moon because I met Trevor Linden!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with hockey and it's players, Trevor Linden is #16 for the Vancouver Canucks, my hometown team. He played with us for ten years before being traded to the NY Islanders in 1998, then was traded back to Vancouver in 2002 after bumping all over the league.
I've been a huge fan of his since I was about seven. Other girls had posters of New Kids on the Block and Tiffany on their walls, but I had a huge yellow and black Trever Linden poster. I collected his cards and I have, I think, sixteen of them, just up to 1997, when I stopped collecting hockey cards. (I was a tomboy for sure)
Anyway, tonight I was at the dinner as a favor to my friend Mike, who was volunteer co-ordinator as a random volunteer. I was there with my band and we wore our sparkly G-Force shirts. I saw Trevor lining up to go the head table for the dinner and I mantioned how amazing it would be to meet him. Mike casually says he'll take me to meet him later. I just gaped and said I'd love to, but it wasn't a big deal, so don't worry.
Later, I was chatting with two other volunteer and Mike comes by to hear me say how much I would love to meet him. "Let's go," the man says and armed with a sharpie and the only piece of paper I could dig up(a G-Force postcard with a blank back), he takes me up to the head table. He leans over to Trevor and mentions something about would it be okay if I met him, because I was a big fan. He says sure, and up I go. Trevor offered me the empty seat next to him and I just tried not to say anything stupid.
We chatted about how glad we both were he was back in Vancouver and when he went to sign the card, he saw the other side and asked about the band. He was so nice and comfortable to talk to and we spent about five minutes chatting. When I left the table I was controlling the hugest grin and when I got back to the girls, I almost cried I was so thrilled. It was seriously a huge moment for me to meet someone I've looked up to for so many years. That postcard is going to be framed, I swear to god.
Now, I'm off to watch the CSI and WaT I taped.

I finally finished that Thousand Words story I was bitching about. Last night I was just fooling around after waaay too many Eric Szmanda/George Eads awards show pics(do they go to everything together?) and I managed to add in the remaining twenty or so words without ruining it as I had feared. Thanks go to Kris for the help and Eric and George for their not-so-secret relationship and smokin' chemistry.

You are a PHOENIX in your soul and your wings make a statement. Huge and born of flame, they burn with light and power and rebirth. Ashes fall from your wingtips. You are an amazingly strong person. You survive, even flourish in adversity and hardship. A firm believer in the phrase, 'Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger,' you rarely fear failure. You know that any mistake you make will teach you more about yourself and allow you to 'rise from the ashes' as a still greater being. Because of this, you rarely make the same mistake twice, and are not among the most forgiving people. You're extremely powerful and wise, and are capable of fierce pride, passion, and anger. Perhaps you're this way because you were forced to survive a rough childhood. Or maybe you just have a strong grasp on reality and know that life is tough and the world is cruel, and it takes strength and independence to survive it. And independence is your strongest point - you may care for others, and even depend on them...but when it comes right down to it, the only one you need is yourself. Thus you trust your own intuition, and rely on a mind almost as brilliant as the fire of your wings to guide you.You are eternal and because you have a strong sense of who and what you are, no one can control your heart or mind, or even really influence your thinking. A symbol of rebirth and renewal, you tend to be a very spiritual person with a serious mind - never acting immature and harboring a superior disgust of those who do. Likewise, humanity's stupidity and tendency to want others to solve their problems for them frustrates you endlessly. Though you can be stubborn, outspoken, and haughty, I admire you greatly.

It's a choice of two pictures and you write a story, any fandom, any paring, any rating for one of them. The catch is it has to be exactly one thousand words. I've got it sketched out at about 800 words so far, but the middle's weak and I'm trying not to dive into a smut fic because I've never written it before.
Plus, I think it sucks. Hey Kris, wanna be my beta?

You are Form 0, Phoenix : The Eternal.
"And The Phoenix's cycle had reached zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He emerged from his own ashes, to be forever immortal."
Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl (Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum (Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life, the number 0, and the element of fire.
His sign is the eclipsed sun.
As a member of Form 0, you are a determined individual. You tend to keep your sense of optomism, even through tough times and have a positive outlook on most situations. Okay, so I go in for surgery in.... seven hours. I have to be at Surrey Memorial at 7:30am and the surgery's at nine. Then, I'm in an anthestesia (sp? ahh, who cares) coma til about one, when they ship me off to my parent's house. Day surgery, they call it. I thought staying in the hospital for one night would be expected, but noooooo. I'll be staying with my parents for about a week and a half. Not so much with the excited, but at least I'm not at work for a bloody change. I woke up this morning at nine thirty, looked at my watch and panicked 'I have to leave for work in ten minutes'. Then I remembered when I was and fell back asleep. Then I woke up at ten thirtyish and went 'Oh God, I'm late for work!' See how my job consumes my life!!!!!!
For those (two lonely readers) of you were wondering why I'm going for surgery at all, I have a cyst or something on my left knee, below my kneecap. I've had it for about six years and it's getting a bit bigger and I can't kneel on it. The doctor asks me if it's been getting bigger, and I go, "Well, it didn't start this big!" Uh, duh. Anyway, they did a biopsy on it and the results were 'inconclusive', so they're all, let's just take all of it and send it to the lab. Well, that was a waste of time and, ow!!
So, I'll try and keep you updated from my pullout couch in my parent's basement and the funny little modem hack I've got jacked into my laptop. I won't have much else to do.

Okay, so I've moved. Pretty much. There was a whole big thing with my Evil Landlord and the girl who's moving into my apartment, but I don't really feel like writing it now. Anyways, I've got all but a few little things into my new room in the new house. Most importantly, my computer. If you need my new address, email me. Suffice to say, I no longer live by the bar.
In case you didn't know, I've left the glorious solitude of my apartment for the peopled living of a house. Again. I lived in a shared house for almost two years until I moved into my apartment in July. Then I had problems finding roomates (another long story) and I spent a total of three months living on my own. I loved it. I have to say I didn't eat well, rarely did a thurough clean and lived on my computer, but I loved it. The freedom of singing without worrying the roomates think you're nuts or annoying, cooking in my bra after Coyote Ugly, watching whatever, whenever... It's the little things that matter.
On the other hand, it was great to sit in the living room with, almost, everyone and chill and chat and mock 60 Minutes and when I walked around, it had that... house smell. Warm, cleanish, like fabric and people and hints of food and soaps. I like it. My apartment smelled like my perfume and hair stuff and me. Not that it's bad, they're just different.
I hate giving up my independance, though. I felt like having an aparment was a big step forward for myself. I was supporting myself completely and utterly. I didn't have to rely on anyone and I reveled in that power. It's gonna be hard to give up. People always looked at me in a kind of awe when I said I was paying for my rent and all my bills myself. (Keep in mind I had a two bedroom apartment and the bills to go with it.) My dream was to have an apartment. Seriously. I dreamed about coming home, putting my keys on the table, sorting through my mail while checking my messages. Yeah, I'm weird, get over it. I had a long repessed dream about being a secretary too.
Okay, I should go to bed now. My room is cold, my right hand(the mouse hand) is numb and I need to be back at 'The Old Apartment' by nine to pick up my rent check the aforementioned Evil Landlord.

So, CSI Thursday night. It was good, but I don't think it was two parter worthy. Had they just gone to regular credits instead of to be continued, I might have felt less cheated by the lack of Oooh excitement in the resolution. It was a cool ep, though. I loved seeing Greg out of the lab. I think he's hot anyways, but for some reason I think he looked even hotter when they let him out. Plus, I liked seeing him stand up to Grissom, when normally he's cowed and nervous. Good character developement. I still think he and Nick have good chemistry.
That overbloated floater was disgusting! I seriously thought I was going to lose my dinner. Usually I'm eating during CSI, but I'm really glad I wasn't then. I liked Catherine's line about all the CSIs sharing a house ("We should do that. You, me, Nicky, Warrick... Grissom.") and Sara's response (*shakes head* "No, not Grissom."). It showed that, despite evidence to the contrary, they remember what happened in Play With Fire, when Sara asked Grissom out. There was nothing about it before that, even in the episode immediately after. I am a Gil/Sara supporter, but I like continuity. Oh well, here's to next Thursday.

Okay I love this! It pretty much sums up how I feel about having children . I find myself defending my choice to never have children so much right now. One of my girlfriends is engaged, one is hoping for a ring soon and a few others are living with their boys, so they're getting... domestic . *shudders* Last night I found myself having to defend my choice yet again to two of the aformentioned girls.
Don't get me wrong. I generally like kids. I just want to play with them and give them back after, like, ten minutes. I just don't want them. And please don't tell me that I'm too young to know and I'll want them later or that you felt the same way and now look! You just LOVE kids and want six. Good for you. I'm happy that having children makes people feel a fufillment they can't imagine living without.
But seriously, I just want to be the cool rockstar aunt. I'll take the kids cool places, fill them with junk, act like a kid with them, have fun and then send them back saying "Aunt Justine is the best! I want to go live with her!" (That is the true measure of a kid's love, if they want to live with you forever. I'm serious. My cousins want to live with me.)

Okay, I've finally found something to replace Buffy. Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you my new obsession: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Yeah, I know it's entering it's fourth season. I've been watching it for a few years, but now I'm really getting into it. I own the Season One and Season Two DVDs and I've converted at least four people. My old roommates Mike and Lyle were easy wins. I popped Season One in and *Boom*! Soon it was "Justine, can we put CSI in?" We once watched six episodes in a row. Yes, I am aware of how pathetic that sounds. Next, I turned my cousin, Lauren, on to it. She's fourteen, but I figure you can never start them too soon. Most recently, my ex-coworker, Frances has been drawn into the web. CBS should be sending me stuff; money, CSI merchandise, Eric Szmanda . I'm not picky. I'll also accept Jorja Fox .
Anyway, new season starts Sept 25th. Wahoo!

Okay, so I still have a few problems with the Buffy season finale. SPOILER WARNING, but really, it's been four days.
Still having a problem with every potential slayer having superpowers. The Voice-over said that every girl in the world who could possibly be the Slayer now has her strength. Does that mean there are thousands of girls out there who can twist doorknobs off? Babies who throw their rattles across the house? There must be hundreds, if not thousands of Potential Slayers from infancy to eighteen, which I suspect is the cut-off age because Kennedy has to be at least that or Willow's cradle robbing. Does this mean every time one of them dies another girl inherits the power? I hesitate to say Chosen because before it implied being chosen specially, the only one. Hmph, I don't like it.
Also, I think there's going to some serious reprecussions from the whole bloody town of Sunnydale falling into a crater. For starters, everybody's everything is gone. Yes, I know they're happy they're alive and not taken over by evil, but later won't they find themselves needing Willow and Giles' one of a kind book collection? Or be missing money and a place to live? Or the graves and bodies of their friends? I think I'd need closure if I were Xander. Plus, I think I'd have been more emotional, but hey, that's just me. I'm betting some of the Junior Misses had some things from their families they'd have wanted to keep, what with never seeing them again. If I were Buffy, I'd have wanted Mr. Pointy. Yes, I seem materialistic, but frankly, I think too much and this is what came to mind.

Tonight was the end of seven years of fine(on the most part) television. Tonight was the last episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was... disappointingly average.
*******SPOILER WARNING!!!!!********
*
*
*
*
It was an average episode aside from the fact that they killed off Anya (sniff), Amanda the Junior Miss, SoonYi(?) the Junior Miss and more. It should have been two hours, for starters. If they can drag the season six opener Bargaining I and II into two hours, the finale Chosen was at least deserving of it. Y'know, I really should have taped it. At least do I could go back and rewatch this funny scene with Millie (oops, I mean Amanda. Damn TWoP ), Andrew, Giles and Xander playing D&D. There's a really funny line I can't remember, but hopefully Ace and Sep willl think it's funny and include it in the recap at Televison Without Pity .
I think that spreading the power of the Slayers like that was.... odd. What does this mean? There are freakishly strong girls running around now? There's no such thing as a Potential or The Slayer? Anyone with the training can now go out an slay, not to mention what girls with no idea of what a Slayer is will be like. Yes, some will use it for good, like the girl who stopped a slap aimed at her, but it could cause a lot more trouble. At least it's another spin-off idea. Buffy and the (remaining) Scoobs travel the world looking for Supergirls to set them on the right path. Hmm, I see lots of girl guest stars. (Me!) Heh.
So, what did you all think?

Last night I bailed on seeing The Matrix Reloaded to go see Down With Love. Before you express your surprise, let me explain. I worked til 7:15 last nite. My friends were seeing it in Delta, which means a bus and skytrain trip of about an hour and a half, depending on catching the busses in due time. So, I don't get to Delta til maybe 8:30 or so. I haven't eaten, I'll have to stand in line for another hour for the ten o'clock show. I just wasn't in the mood for all that bother. I'll go see it in my own time, maybe drag someone else. Plus, Ewan McGregor is in Down With Love. It's a take on the old 60's movies and that's right up my alley. All I wanted last night was a light fun movie I wouldn't have to analyze in depth later.
Okay, so DWL rocked. It was funny and clever and so cute. If you don't know, it's about Barbara Novak (Renee Zellweger) who writes a book called Down With Love. It's about women saying "Down With Love" and focusing all their energies on the workplace and just having sex 'a la carte', not for love. Ewan McGregor plays Catcher Block, the star jounalist at Know Magazine. He's the ultimate 'man's man, woman's man, man about town' and refuses to do a story on Barbara because he thinks she's an ugly spinster. She tells him off, by phone(they do the funniest split screen phone convos) and he gets intrigued. He vows to his editor (hilarious, but to type, David Hyde Pierce) he'll do an exposé on her and make the DWL girl fall for him. He puts on a very funny southern accent and glasses and plays Major Zip Martin. Hijinks ensue.
It was such a funny movie and Ewan and Renee have the cutest 60's duet over the credits, so stick around for that. Half the theater stood up, then sat down again to watch. Ewan looked so very fine, except I hated the way his pants looked. Thankfully he kept the swoon-worthy Scottish accent and suitably mangled the southern one. Plus, they had him in various states of undress many times, including a towel. Very nice.
With this, Ewan has now been moved back onto The List and straight to number two. Sean Biggerstaff is still number one.

Okay, so I had a neat dream last night. It was very back to high school. I was hanging out there, in the dram and music rooms and we were just chilling and singing and stuff, like we always did. It was as if it was the year after I graduated, because most of us were there and so was the year below us, who were now grade twelves. My voice must have been off, scratchy or something, but Dr James and Mr Vint said something about 'this is why we picked two people for Nancy' and I wanted to cry, but I kept smiling. (In Oliver in 2001, me and another girl shared the role) Then, later, they must have asked us to be in the current play(which was an odd meld of Oilver and Fiddler on the Roof, but the other girl (who's name I won't print) was playing Nancy solo. I was in a crowd scene and I was wearing the Nancy dress we shared, while she wore the chorus outfit we wore on our off nights. For some reason, she needed my rings for Nancy and I forked them over.
After the play was over, we were in the girls locker room (which didn't look like this; too much Bring it On, I think) and I went in for my rings. She gave them back, but then we must have started taunting each other, 'cause she challenges me to go for it. I don't remember what we said, but it must have been laced with explatives. I excused myself to put on shoes and then I promptly kicked her ass. I remember delivering a few awesome punches and she got me once or twice too. We ended up on the floor, me sitting on her chest, knees on her arms, gloating. That made me feel better, I can tell you that. I gave a parting shot that must have been really witty and cool, 'cause everyone went 'ooo', then I left.
That was pretty much the best part of my day, aside from the kickass West Wing episode. I went home sick from work, which shows you how sick I actually was. I hate doing that. I feel guilty for making Adi work my shift and hers, but I was going to be of no help to her; that's pretty much the only reason I went home. I felt guilty about being no help and guilty about going home. So, I went home, had some soup and slept until 6 to watch the Cancuks spectacular defeat. Seriously, is this the same team? I needn't have gotten up. They will prevail, though. Game 7 will be different, a return to the beginning of this series and the end of the last. Go Canucks.

I am, like, the worst poster ever. I keep meaning to, then I check my email which shows I've got a review for my Harry Potter fanfic , which means I have to go read what the nice person wrote, which leads to me checking what's new at Fiction Alley , then getting wrapped up in one of Arianna's stories, then posting a review, then adding a chapter to my HP fic and then I have to go to bed.
Looking at that above, I look lame.

So, last night's Buffy episode... Gee, I hate Caleb. He killed Molly!! I liked her! It's just Kennedy left now, of the three Giles brought. Annabelle was killed by the Uber-vamp and now Molly... I hate it when the girls die. I feel protective of them. I was upset when Chloe committed sucide because of the First and I don't think she was honoured very well by the Scoobs. Buffy blew her death off like a stupid lesson to scare the other Potentials into line. Grr.
But, yay, Faith! She looks different; her hair's lighter and so is her make up and I think her face is softer too. I heard she gave up smoking, but she must have started again, 'cause she sounds husky. I liked the scene with her and Spike in the basement. Two former baddies bonding over smokes. Funfun.
I feel really bad for Xander. He's been working at this so hard for seven years and he loses an eye to a twisted, manipulative, murdering SOB. He lost Jesse to vampires, he lost a lot of confidence over the years, he lost Anya at the alter, he lost Tara as a friend and almost lost Willow and the world numerous times. He had a horrible home life. Him and Jonathone were the two I wanted to see walk away from Sunnydale whole in body, mind and spirit. We lost that hope with Jonathon a few months ago, but I had such hope for Xander. It almost makes me want to cry.

Just saw Players, the latest Angel ep. I had to download it because it didn't play on the new VI on Tues nite. Hmmph. Anyway, saw it and loved it. I mean we go from Faith to the ever sexy Gwen aka Electro-girl. My week just got better, I'll tell you. Any how, Kris asked on the Tagboard what we thought Cordy's giveaway was. I think it was either Conner or the gang isn't as clueless as they usually are. They picked up a vibe, followed a hunch and it paid off. If Cordy had been good, she wouldn't have gone down with a knife to kill Lorne, the gang would have been happy to have been wrong and Lorne could say the spell didn't work.
Now, Gwen and Gunn.. I gotta say, I like it. She doesn't treat him like 'the muscle'. She doesn't know his whole history and has a fresh view of him, different then how Fred and Co see him. Aside from the physical attraction, Gwen's funny, smart and Gunn takes her for who she is. All his friends are 'freaks', so it doesn't bother him; in fact it's par for the course. I'd almost like to see this play out nicely. Fred can keep Wes. He's sexy in his own way and they're on the same nutty level.
It may be that it's four am and I haven't slept yet, but I don't think I've gone into my occasional reviews as much before. How retrospective of me. *grin*

Okay, so there's war. Last week I was really upset about the prospect and I called my mom to reassure me that everything is okay. She assured me that it was okay, that I was safe and everything. The thing I guess she didn't get was that I'm not worried about me. I live in Canada; we're not joining the war until they attack Ottawa or the UN says 'sure, go ahead'. I'm worried about the world and humanity and people . I don't want people to die. But hey, what do I know. I'm just a silly girl who wants the whole world to get along.
I've cried enough for today. I'm turning off CNN and going to watch Moulin Rouge for the 62nd time.

WARNING!!! Possible HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN FILMING SPOILERS.
GRRRRAAHHH! I am so upset right now! I just found out that Oliver Wood and probably Quiddich has been cut from Prisoner of Azkaban. There aren't words to describe how angry I am. I love Sean Biggerstaff (his accent is so sexy) and Quiddich is my favorite part of the Harry Potter movies! Not only am I trying to wrap my mind aroud PoA without Sean, but I'm trying to figure out how exactly their going to keep the story intact. Oliver's obsession with winning the cup is great comic relief and how exactly are they supposed to win the House Cup without the Quiddich Cup? There's supposed to be the huge Quiddich game against Slytherin with dirty tactics and fuuuuun! Does this mean no more Quiddich Girls? Katie, Alicia and Angelina are my favorite characters, even though they're considered minors. If Joanne Rawling is so dedicated to preserving the books, how can she really let such a glaring plot hole go by?
There is a petition to show our displeasure as fans. It probably won't save Oliver Wood or Sean Biggerstaff, but it will let Warner Brothers know how upset we are. Thanks to Mugglenet.com and Princess Arianna from FictionAlley.org . I'm signee number 12875. It's just not good without Wood.

Faith is back!!! My Faith is back! That was an alright episode made wonderful by Faith being back. Okay, it was still okay , but I just wanted to overlook it. It was waay crazy making Cordy the 'Master' and even creepier at the end with Conner. I think his crush on Faith is cute. He likes girls who take charge, I guess. I guess they finally had to address the way Charisma was looking. Have you noticed how they've been dressing her exclusively in dark colours and nothing but jackets. Plus, never any body shots when they can get away with it. Funny.

I just finished watching The Secret Garden(1993 version) on tv and I am so swept away. When I first watched it, I guess almost 10 yrs ago, I liked it, but looking at it now, I love it. I know the story by heart and I'm wishing I still had my old copy, the one with the old movie picture on the front. You know, the one with the dark haired Mary? That was a really good one too. But, Agnieszka Holland's version is so spectacular; the only word I can really bring to mind is lush. The garden is fresh and colorful, the Manor is gothic and full of possibilities.... Kate Maberly (as Mary) was spectacular. She was absolutely perfect and I forgot she was just a child at some points. Ooh, I'm just all full up with this joy that a movie or book like that does to me. It makes me happy beyond belief and fills me with a sort of anxious contentment. I want more of it, but I'm happy to have seen it.

My friend Adi came boucing into work today with my Xmas gift(goldfish for both Frances and I) and announced that we were going to try and win Avril tix on the local pop radio station. The 'hot 6 at 6' gives away two tickets if you're the ninth caller who can identify the fifth, second and sixth songs, or whichever, on the countdown. We listened, wrote them down and Adi, her boyfriend and I all called on three different lines the second they said to call. Adi was all 'oh, we're never going to win' I said something like, 'well, someone's got to win, it might as well be us.' She connected and got the songs right! I was bouncing like Tigger on crack and screaming and she was squealing. I hugged her just before she was going to give the guy her name and address and she accidentally hit the off button on the phone. Adi almost had a heart attack. She called on one line and I dialed on my cell and she got through. The tickets are ours and we're going to see Avril!!!!!!!!! Hee.

It was awesome! Funnier, scarier and cinamatically phenomenal. Movie wise, Ron(Rupert Grint) is my favorite. He's so funny! My personal favorite: "Follow the spiders! Why couldn't it have been follow the butterflies?" after following into a nest of horse-sized spiders. Hermione(Emma Watson) is getting prettier and Harry(Daniel Radcliffe) learned a few more expressions. It's funny, they're getting older now and much taller. Draco Malfoy(Tom Felton) is towering over Harry and Co. while Ron and Harry's voices are deeper, but still cracking a bit. It's pretty funny. My favorite scene is this little one where Harry, Ron and Hermione are sitting in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom (much more spacious than I had imagined). Hermione is sitting mixing potions, Harry's lounging on the floor and Ron is leaning with his shirtsleeves rolled up, tie loosened and looking for all the world like a twentysomething come home from work. Some scenes I was looking forward to were not there, as well as some that might have helped the flow. Lockhart's scenes were funny, but they were some of the missing ones I wanted to see. Kenneth Brannagh was perfect as the arrogant Professor Lockhart.
I'm tired and losing my train of thought, so I'll try to add more once I've slept.

Okkaaaayyyyyyyy, now that I have time to post, I have tons to get up and out.
First I have to start with Sensations. It was a blast. We looked hot, danced hotter and totally set the place on fire. I am of course leaving out the six long hours backstage, the drunk models/backup dancers and boredom. That and the fact that because the show was about an hour behind schedule, we went on at midnight and three quarters of the audience had left. Including the celebrities. And I really wanted to meet Lisa Ryder from Andromeda(and formerly Forever Knight), too. But the dance was so amazing! I can't wait to get photos and the video, because I only saw myself twice in the mirror and I don't remember much of the seven minute number. I do remember laughing with my dad across the audience, turning the wrong way, feeling so good and a blur. It was really like the CanCan scene in Moulin Rouge where it was dizzying and blurred and frantic and sexy.
Second, I just got a new electronic. Those who know me know I love electronics and can usually make them work, even if I don't know how or what exactly. I got a sweet combo VCR/DVD player. It's sooooo cool. I just finished watching Ocean's 11, my very first DVD on that machine. Plus, now I can tape Buffy and Angel, so I'm not upset about missing them all the time.
One another note, I got to see Conversations with Dead People. Very bizzare. I was thrilled to see Cassie back. Azura Skye is a great actress. I almost cried when she was talking for Tara with Willow. Poor Will. Dawn's scenes were scary; Spike's were short, dialogue-less and odd and Buffy's were poingant, especially at the end. Jane Espenson & Drew Goddard wrote this ep; Jane is best know for Earshot, Superstar and loads more and Drew for this season's Selfless. There's some serious crazyness a-brewin'. I'm extremely upset, though, over Jonathon. I really hope he's not dead. I wanted him to be the one who survived Sunnydale, moved one, got a better life or something. How could Jane do that? She's written some of his best stuff!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I watched from behind one of the cameras and pretended to the crew that I was giving marks and cues to the models and Nic and Krisha. The girls were awesome! They looked phenomenal and smiled and looked so good that Michael was blushing when they looked at him all sexy. I was a little jealous that I didn't get to be on as well, but they only wanted two girls and with me makes three. Jericho is enjoying a lovely vacation in the Caribbian, so she couldn't be there.
On the bright side, my blue streaks are now pink.

Okay, so I promised myself I wouldn't be all girly and obsessive about Travis, but I like him and he hasn't called! That never happens! I generally don't like many guys and some of those never stop calling. Dammit. I swore I'd be mature and all, but why hasn't he called? Doesn't he like me??? Grr.
Okay, done now. Mostly, 'cause I know how lame I sound, but I gotta just get off it and stop dwelling. If he calls, he calls and if he doesn't, then he's dumb.

Boy, is it cold in my house!!!!! It's freeeeezing! I'm in my room, on the Net, and I'm bored and cold. I wonder if the two are connected. I'm chatting with a friend of mine, but it's a stop and go chat, in little spurts. I'm also searching for some of Ten Ways From Sunday's music, but I can't find anything. I found Crave Me, but I can't find You've been around or anything else. I realized I have no idea what their music is like, but I've been chummy with them for a little while. Plus, I made Travis listen to G-Force, so I figured it's only fair.

Okay, some more on Halloween. I went to two parties and had four costumes. I just luuuv costumes. Two I bought just to wear out.
I had a blue faerie tutu with blue sparkly wings and a flower crown and three inch blue eyelashes for work and handing out candy. I generally wore the tutu over jeans, 'cause it was just to cold. Add a toque and I was a squeegie faerie. Very versatile.
Then I have a really nice gothic dress in black and gold velour and polyester. It was about two inches too short, but looked killer with tons of eyeliner and dark lipstick. That I wore a few times to work and once going somewhere on the bus from work. Funny looks followed.
The third is my favorite to wear out. I wore it for my birthday party. It's a short combat dress(fatigue print) with knee high boots, a bandanna, wildly kinky hair, a centimeter of black eyeliner and red lipstick. I love it!
My most favorite and least... decent is my 'Pink from Lady Marmalade' costume. For the Greenhouse party, I had to modify it from the actual performance costume, so it went something like this: black corset, black hotpants/booty shorts, gold and black fishnets, kneehigh black boots, past-the-elbow black gloves and a pink wig. I felt kinda naked for a little while, 'cause it was like wearing just underwear; I felt like I had forgotten my skirt, but after a few moments I got used to it. You gotta or you'll feel like you're just wearing underwear all night.

I know it's a little late, but I've been busy. Happy Halloween!
I went to the coolest Halloween party at Greenhouse(the studio we're at). It was packed with people, there was music everywhere and some very cool people. The girls(G-Force) and I went as our Lady Marmalade characters, and boy did people love us. I had so many compliments! Lots of guys loved it. ;-) Well, we looked really hot. I didn't get home till 4am, but it was soooo worth it. I met this really nice guy, Travis. He's the drummer from Ten Ways From Sunday . They're recording their album there too. He's hot, that's all I'm saying. I just hope he calls me.

Yay!! I'm finished my part of recording!!!!! I've spent tonite, 7 hours on Monday and about five hours Friday laying down vocal tracks for our first three singles. Not bad, considering, but it seems like a lot to me. It's my first time recording and I go in after a full day of work, so I'm really tired. I spend eight hours chasing kids, finding stuff and being on my feet, then go to the studio to stand on my feet and sing the same lines for five hours. It's tougher than I thought, but it was sooooo much fun. We're doing I Am Who I Am, a song that would be on repeat on _my_ cd player; Mesmerize, a hypnotic, Kylie Minogue-esque song; and All Of This Time, a smooth R&B ballad. They are so amazing. Lin Gardiner, our producer, is phenomenal! She has totally made this a wonderful experiance and the songs sound amazing. Hee. I'm giddy!
Nickleback was rehersing tonite for their big show here tomorrow in the studio right above ours. They were so loud. Lin and I would stop and listen, trying to identify the songs by the bass line. That's hard. We joked about going upstairs and telling them that Nickelback will be very quietly in the background of our songs. Subliminal Nickleback. But, we didn't. I'd love to meet them, but knowing me, I bump into one guy in the kitchen say hi and challenge him to pool, not knowing it's Chad or something.
Well, that's all for now, 'cause I'm so worn out. I hope I'll have a music clip or something to show for it soon.

Which Disney Princess are you?
You are a quick-witted tough dame with a tongue of steel. This jaded, cynical outlook is your suit of armor worn to protect you from further hurt and mistreatment. You may have been burned in the past by a love. Though your history weighs on your mind, you still have a little bit of faith in love. Don't deny it, girlfriend! Let go of the past and move on, embracing life's possibilities. But being more optimistic doesn't mean you have to lose your wit or independence!

I saw Not Another Teen Movie the other day. It was okay. I liked the parodying of the sappy dumb teen movies more than any of the gross out stuff. I'm not big on gross, toilet humor movies, American Pie being the exception, but NATM was okay. I loved the musical number, the exchange student was hilarious, even though most of her scenes ended up in the deleted scenes. Jake seemed to get cuter as the movie went on and everyone looked like someone. I guess that was the point, but it was a bit disconcerting. Lacey Chabert looked like Jennifer Love Hewitt as the Perfect Girl, Mia Kurshiner looked like Eliza Dushku meets Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Cruelest Girl and Jaime Pressley looked like Carmen Electra as the Nasty Cheerleader. Maybe that was the point but still. I was so confused for a little while.

Sorry, I've been a very bad poster. Here's the summery of my life as it stands.
G-Force just signed a three song deal with our very cool producer from the UK, Lin Gardiner. I go into the studio to start on my bits on Firday after work. It's going to be long and tiring and very cool! Hee.
Work is crazy and mind-stretching. But, I have very cool costumes! I wear a blue satin bodysuit, blue tutu, glitter and white trainers on some days, complete with bubbles in a little vial to blow when I'm bored or some kid is crying. Also, I bought this cool Gothic dress. With dark eyeliner and red lipstick and black boots, I look very cool. I love to wear cool, fun clothes, so I also bought this costume to wear any old time. I love it! I don't look so distorted, though. The costume I wore last year was so cool I want to wear it again, but Megan's wearing it. Frances is wearing this one . She looks so good in it, we've sold all our stock. This line, the Covenant series is so amazing. It's the Slayers and the Vampires and so very very cool.

Hee hee. I'm going to the Canucks season opener on Sunday. And, dude, the Queen is dropping the puck. The Queen of England and the Commenwealth. I love the Queen. Some of the girls were talking about who they want to meet when we're rich and famous. Nic wants to meet Britney and Celine Dion, Jericho wants to meet Madonna and I want to meet the Queen. Yes, I'm a dork, but I just think she's so cool. And I think it's neat that Canada still has a Queen.

Okay, I stand corrected. I checked out ET online and it's Kristy Swenson, the original Buffy(from the 1992 movie) who's posing. Not as creepy and evil. But please, say SMG will never ever do it. Someone out there promise me! Please.

I just got some very disturbing news. According to Jericho(she got it from Entertainment Tonight, I think), Sarah Michelle Gellar is posing for Playboy. Can we say whaaaaa??? She's so freaking skinny I don't think she has breasts anymore. I'm serious on this. Look at any recent photo of her. She's lost at least twenty pounds since Buffy started. Yes, I know that was seven years ago, but she's tiny. Like, 5'2", I think. I read something recently where she was commenting on the Buffy Drinking Game from Seasons one and two where you take a drink whenever you see a bra strap. She said something like "I was about fifteen pounds heavier and a full cup size bigger when I started on Buffy. The costumers wanted me in tank tops and no way was I wearing them without a bra." But seriously, I can't believe it. I almost bought the Maxim with Eliza Dushku on it, but she looked HOT. I wouldn't even want to see the censered photos of SMG they put on ET. It would just seem wrong. This is taking the 'skinny is beautiful' thing they've been feeding me since I was twelve too far.

Got to say, it's looking up. With the new Sunnydale High up and running and the Hellmouth conveniantly situated under the new Principal's office, we can see we're up for a fun year. I hear rumers about them harking back to the 'glory days', when the Scooby Gang was looking up stuff in the library. It also looks like Dawnie's getting her own gang. Kit and Carlos, two 'unreachable' troublemakers, make friends with the newest Scooby-in-Training over a ghostly encounter in the SHS basement. Yup, Buffy's training her lil' sister to fight the good fight. The new principal is interesting. He apparently knows who/what Buffy is and even offers her a job at the school, as a counselor of sorts. Convenient way to get Buffy hanging about the school. Loving Spike's 'demons'. What a great surprise to see Warren, Glory, Adam, the Master and, the crowning glory, Drusilla paying the newly souled (and kinda nuts) Spikey a visit.
Oh, and I've got twenty bucks on the girl running for her life at the beginning being a Slayer-in-Waiting. Not only has the casting call(among agents) gone out for Slayers-in-Waiting, but for Slayers too. It's gonna be good.

I hate work. I'm just so flipping bad at it that it makes me want to scream. I can't even get through one day without messing up at least once! I want to scream and throw things and cry. I like my job, but I hate work. Dammit! And I want to swear, but I was going to not swear on here anymore. Anyway, as I've said before, I work at a kid's costume shop. It's fun, when there's not actual work needed to be done. I can think up costume ideas by the dozen, tell you how to dress your kid as the Golden Snitch or remember what wig Diane was looking at three days ago, but I can't do actual paperwork. I'm serious. I always forget at least one step. Sometimes two. My bosses are always having to remind me to sign off on this and double check this and call her for that.
Last week I screwed up royally and I will never live it down. We sell dance wear at the store and because it's Sept, all the classes are starting, so everyone needs new everything. That means new shoes. Tap shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes; used, new; you name it. At one point it got so busy that I was sitting on the floor surrounded by boxes and pairs of ballet shoes while people just queued up behind me to be fitted. I must have fitted at least ten people in half an hour. Well, on Friday, a mum comes back in and says her daughter's ballet teacher said that the shoes were wrong. Donna(my boss) did another fitting and informed me(not meanly) that not only had I fitted the girl completely wrong(like a size and a width), but I had accidentally given her one 7 and one 7.5. I was already embarassed that she had to be refitted, but add the fact that I screwed the store over(we couldn't find one of the other pairs), I was feeling very crap-tacular. And thoroughly ashamed. I mean, I've been there for almost a year. I should know this by now!
I just want to stop working. I can think of a million other things I could be doing, all of them involving NO WORK. *sighs wistfully* I wish....

Yes, I have to say something. I know there are a million people online, discussing and analyzing and venting and grieving, but I wanted to add my own little piece. Normally, I wear black. There is always at least a stripe or word or something. Occasionally, it's all black. I just like black and dark colours. If I wear white, it's a top with dark jeans or skirt. But today, black felt wrong. I knew there would be a million other people in black. Instead, I wore white jeans, a white shirt and white runners. Here's something I wrote at work, kind of explaining: Today, I wear white. I wear white, not black; the colour of life, not death. White is the colour of Spirit, of healing, of peace. I wear white to show the regeneration of life, to show the healing of my Spirit. I grieve, but I am not lost to it. I wear white for hope. I wear white today to make a dark a brighter place. Today, of all days, I wear white. Sept 11, 2002

I'm boooored!!! It's a Friday night and I wanna go out!!! Trouble is, all my friends are in Delta and don't wanna haul their asses out to go to the bar. Yes, I'm looking at you . I don't have many(okay any) Vancouver friends who aren't co-workers and they're 18 who look 15. (no offence!) All I want to do is go down to Lou's, have a drink or three, relax, unwind a bit. It's been a long week, even with Monday off. It just feels long. Maybe because I worked the 11-7pm shift today. It seems like I was at work for-ever! I just want a frigging drink. I may have to take some of Mike's vodka, even though I just want a nice martini. Is that too much to ask? But nooooooo. I'm stuck at home on my computer like a geek. It's just like flipping high school!!! Dammit.

Not too much to say right now, but I wanted to just update a bit. G-Force is in contract negotations with a producer to record and produce a three song set. It'll give us a good product we can shop around to record labels. I'm excited to start working in a studio. I've only done a teeny bit of recording and I'm kind of intimidated. Oh, well, I'm sure once we all get in there, it'll be cool.
I'm wearing the cutest outfit and I wanted to share it with you all. It starts with a cute red plaid skirt(short, of course), a black tee that has a sparkly Playboy logo on it, knee high black boots and a red sweater over the tee, 'cause it's cold now. I just love this new skirt. It's sexy and playful and cute all at the same time. Smart Set rocks.
